Mathematical Art
My interest in mathematical art originated as a crafty undergraduate math major, when I discovered Daina Taimiņa's Crocheting Adventures with Hyperbolic Planes.

This prompted me to become a semi-regular in the Joint Math Meeting Art Exhibit, which in turn lead me to the Mathemalchemy project. In addition to crochet, I learned new crafts to contribute to the project such as mosaics, origami, and beading. (Things really came full circle as I got to work in the "Garden Group" with my idol Daina Taimiņa, a fellow Mathemalchemist!)

Inspired by the collaborations through Mathemalchemy, I am currently working on expanding my origami skills and getting started in the Japanese art of Temari.

Conceived in early Fall 2019, as the brainchild of mathematician Ingrid Daubechies and fiber artist Dominique Ehrmann, the Mathemalchemy project became in 2020 an exciting collaborative enterprise, driven by the energy and enthusiasm of twenty-four mathematical artists and artistic mathematicians
